Student Experience
Need somewhere to study, heat up your lunch, or just hang out with other SUST students? Come visit the Dal College of Sustainability (Mona Campbell Building, Suite 1401) Monday to Friday during regular office hours for comfy chairs, study tables, a microwave, and a tea kettle.
If you need more space, we have rooms that can be booked for group meetings or study sessions as well: email sustainability@dal.ca for more info.
Student societies and volunteering
Your Environmental Sustainability Society (YESS) hosts regular meetings and events at the College of Sustainability throughout the year: activities include hikes, clothing swaps, potlucks, craft nights, eco film screenings, and local sustainability advocacy. Students from any faculty are welcome to join YESS. Check out their for more info! Â
There are many other ways to get involved in sustainability activities and initiatives at the Dal Studley campus. Volunteer opportunities include the , the , the , the , the , and the Free Store.
Every spring, the (DSUSO) hosts the Green Gala: a night for students and faculty to get dressed up and enjoy food, dancing, and prizes to celebrate all things sustainability at Dalhousie. Our ESS students are often heavily involved in the organizing. !
SUST community meals
Between September and March, our community meal team hosts special monthly meals for SUST students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the College. Work-integrated learning opportunities
The College offers work-integrated learning programs that give ESS students opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills outside the classroom. Choose from a single semester of paid work experience or a longer co-op program option for your degree. Earn an income while earning your degree. Graduate with experience!
